As a certified Google Partner agency, Gapture® Malaysia had the opportunity to co-host an event with Google Malaysia in its office at Menara 1 Sentrum, Brickfields.

At 9:30am of November 22, 21 guests arrived at the event with full enthusiasm. They were treated with scrumptious sandwiches, pastries and beverages while networking in the welcoming ambience of Google’s office.

Apart from the Founder of Gapture® Malaysia, Stanley Chee, Google Malaysia’s Agency Account Strategist, Norra Shamsuddin was also present at the event. She kicked off the presentations with a simple question for the attendees: “On average, how many times do people check their mobile phones daily?” - the answer is 150 times! Norra then went on to sharing some amazing statistics on how Malaysians are embracing the Digital Revolution.

Norra highlighted the importance of Google Search and its evolving role in consumers’ decision-making journey. Today’s search is powerful, more human and it has the ability to deliver human experiences. It is disrupting the decision-making process and the way we reach our consumers every day. This topic then moved on to some great insights into the property development industry in Malaysia and followed by the advantages of working with Google Partner agencies like Gapture® Malaysia.

Next, it was Stanley’s turn to talk more in-depth about all the types of Google ads and their placements. He explained these with actual ad visuals run by real Gapture® clients. Examples of ads that were delivering good vs bad results were also shown to explain how important it is to follow certain guidelines when creating artwork for Google ads. Apart from good ads, a good landing page is just as important in delivering optimum results for an ad campaign. Landing pages with dull hero images and enquiry forms that can’t be found don’t deliver as well as those with great images and enquiry forms above the fold.

Before ending the presentation, Stanley shared a few tips with the attendees on things to watch out for in an agency. This is especially important for advertisers with little knowledge on how to manage an ad campaign on their own - to protect their investment and make the best out of their campaigns.

Gapture® Digital Marketing Workshop for Vistage Malaysia

In the morning of October 13, 2016, our Founder Stanley Chee conducted a 2.5-hour long Digital Marketing workshop for Vistage in Puchong.

Founded in 1957, Vistage is a gathering of chief executives in peer advisory groups to share their experiences and help each other improve performance for their businesses. With more than 21,000 members to-date, they meet in small groups to help each other gain new perspectives and achieve desired results.

Stanley began the session by talking about the digital marketing funnel along with the key measurable results such as reach, engagement, unique visitors, unique conversions, etc.. He also highlighted the general rule of thumb on performance media and how the quality score of campaigns matters a lot in digital marketing.

Most people did not know that targeting is the single most important thing in digital marketing. More so than the content of the ads themselves. It is the reason why Facebook is worth what it does.

After the explanation on the different ad channels and what they know about you, Stanley went on to elaborate on The Five Things a Digital Agency Will Never Tell You. Here they are in a nutshell:

Right after that was a presentation of Gapture® case studies created with actual data from real campaigns. These data are often results of the research done for Gapture's client according to their industrial needs. This also showcased the advantages and benefits of digital marketing campaigns for various industries.

Following the slideshow presentation, Stanley enlightened the workshop attendees with all the devices and technologies that is shaping the future of digital marketing. Along with that he also talked about some technologies that will be available in the near future.

Finally, Stanley signed off with great insights on ways to enhance the attendees' current websites. This included tips on how to make them more functional and user friendly.

Google Ignite is a training-to-internship program piloted by Google Malaysia in July 2015. This free program gives students a chance to be Google AdWords Certified and land an internship with the country’s best companies and online marketing agencies.

In this program, students register and learn about online marketing essentials, then take the Google Advertising Fundamentals, Advanced Search and Advanced Display exams. Once they’ve passed the Advertising Fundamentals Exam and one of the two Advanced Exams, they are invited to the Google Ignite Career Fair.

This year, the training program involved HELP University, INTI International Universities and Colleges, Limkokwing University, UCSI University, MMU, Monash University, Sunway College, Nottingham University, Taylor’s University and UTAR.

At 9am on the lovely Saturday morning of August 27th, the Gapturions arrived at booth No. 14 in the Grand Ballroom to set up for the event, which was strategically located next to the buffet line to our delight. The event started at 10am as students flowed in hopefully to secure an internship for themselves.

Although some booths offered chocolates, biscuits, cotton candy and free goodie bags amongst other freebies to attract visitors, Gapture Malaysia had something that caught the attention of a lot of students - the gong.

The emcee of the event, Ben Ibrahim has developed a fascination for the gong since the last year. We struck the gong every time the name “Gapture” was mentioned or when the emcee demanded it. We were not surprised to find that students and occupants from other booths came to check us out because of that. They too, just like Ben, were rather fascinated by it.

Apart from the gong, we also gave out a special Gapture Malaysia lanyard and tag holder for students who passed our simple Digital Marketing test. Not only did they receive a free gift, it was also a way to apply for our internship program as well as a chance to strike the gong.

Career related talks were given by speakers from Jobstreet.com, Maybank, AirAsia and Waze. There were also School Awards presented to university partners that have successfully completed the Google Ignite Malaysia Program in 2016.

The 2016 Google Ignite Career Fair ended at 5pm and has successfully attracted 404 attendees, 901 applications online and over 1,500 applications during the Career Fair.

Gapture Conducted Google AdWords Workshop for 11street Academy

Our Founder, Stanley Chee, was invited by Google Malaysia to conduct a workshop on Google AdWords for 11street Academy.  In the morning of June 29, Gapturions in matching company t-shirts, marched into 11street office in KL Sentral to get ready for the workshop.  More than fifty 11street sellers showed up to learn about Google AdWords.

Also present was Denise Gamo, Google Malaysia's Head of SMB Marketing, who kicked off the workshop with some incredible insights into Malaysia's current digital landscape.  Attendees were treated to some valuable statistics about Malaysian consumers and how they behave online.

Did you know that 80% of Malaysian customers do online research before making a purchase, or that 92% of Malaysians search on Google?  Significant figures like these are hard to ignore, and Denise shared them with the workshop to highlight how important it is for businesses today to be found, be useful, be on mobile and how to measure everything.  Denise then introduced Google My Business, a Google product designed for businesses looking to capture the attention of Malaysians on Google Search, Google Map and Google+.

Following Denise's presentation on the importance of digital marketing, Stanley began his session with an introduction to Google AdWords and how businesses can utilize the platform to grow their businesses online.  Stanley, a certified Google Regional Trainer, then delivered a concise yet informative session on Google AdWords.

For those with little or no experience in AdWords, the concept of Ad Ranks, Quality Scores and Ad Extensions can be a little daunting.  Using real examples and visuals, Stanley guided the workshop attendees through these important areas of AdWords, teaching them how to improve their Quality Scores and Ad Ranks, and introducing Ad Extensions that could change their ad reachability online.  Stanley made the workshop interactive by engaging the attendees with mini quizzes on Google's Search Ad policies and guidelines.  The audience were incredibly enthusiastic and engaging, especially when we started to hand out Google tumblers and sticky notes as prizes!

At the end of the workshop, Stanley introduced Gapture's special 11street Academy Promotion for the first time.  Created for SMEs, the aim of the special promotion was to make Gapture's services more accessible for smaller businesses looking to jump start their digital marketing journey. 

After the workshop, Gapture team held one-on-one consultation sessions for attendees who signed up to meet with a Gapture Performance Specialist or Digital Consultant.  Our Performance Specialists and Digital Consultants connected with many attendees that day.  It was also a great learning opportunity for Gapture's interns as well, who got to enhance their knowledge of AdWords by seeing Gapturions in action.

Gapture FOUNDER Being Awarded by World Brand Congress

Our Founder, Stanley Chee, was awarded the “Most Influential Digital Marketing Leaders 2016” by World Brand Congress. The World Brand Congress is the single largest rendezvous of best brains behind the world's most successful brands.

The ceremony was held at Pullman Kuala Lumpur City Centre Hotel & Residences, on the 11th of April 2016, coincidently on his birthday!
