Our CEO, Stanley Chee, was invited by Google Malaysia to conduct a workshop on Google AdWords for 11street Academy. In the morning of June 29, Gapturions in matching company t-shirts, marched into 11street office in KL Sentral to get ready for the workshop. More than fifty 11street sellers showed up to learn about Google AdWords.
Also present was Denise Gamo, Google Malaysia's Head of SMB Marketing, who kicked off the workshop with some incredible insights into Malaysia's current digital landscape. Attendees were treated to some valuable statistics about Malaysian consumers and how they behave online.
Did you know that 80% of Malaysian customers do online research before making a purchase, or that 92% of Malaysians search on Google? Significant figures like these are hard to ignore, and Denise shared them with the workshop to highlight how important it is for businesses today to be found, be useful, be on mobile and how to measure everything. Denise then introduced Google My Business, a Google product designed for businesses looking to capture the attention of Malaysians on Google Search, Google Map and Google+.
Following Denise's presentation on the importance of digital marketing, Stanley began his session with an introduction to Google AdWords and how businesses can utilize the platform to grow their businesses online. Stanley, a certified Google Regional Trainer, then delivered a concise yet informative session on Google AdWords.
For those with little or no experience in AdWords, the concept of Ad Ranks, Quality Scores and Ad Extensions can be a little daunting. Using real examples and visuals, Stanley guided the workshop attendees through these important areas of AdWords, teaching them how to improve their Quality Scores and Ad Ranks, and introducing Ad Extensions that could change their ad reachability online. Stanley made the workshop interactive by engaging the attendees with mini quizzes on Google's Search Ad policies and guidelines. The audience were incredibly enthusiastic and engaging, especially when we started to hand out Google tumblers and sticky notes as prizes!
At the end of the workshop, Stanley introduced Gapture's special 11street Academy Promotion for the first time. Created for SMEs, the aim of the special promotion was to make Gapture's services more accessible for smaller businesses looking to jump start their digital marketing journey.
After the workshop, Gapture team held one-on-one consultation sessions for attendees who signed up to meet with a Gapture Performance Specialist or Digital Consultant. Our Performance Specialists and Digital Consultants connected with many attendees that day. It was also a great learning opportunity for Gapture's interns as well, who got to enhance their knowledge of AdWords by seeing Gapturions in action.
